building sewer

A gravity-flow pipeline connecting a building wastewater collection system to a lateral or branch collection pipe. The building pipe may begin at the outside of the building’s foundation wall or some distance (such as 2–10 feet) from the wall, depending on local wastewater collection ordinances. Also called a house connection, a house sewer, or a service connection.
